Terms and Conditions
Effective from August 2026
These terms and conditions form a binding agreement between you and Mire Mesh Vault when you engage our survey, planning, or advisory services. Please read them alongside our Terms of Service.
Conduct Requirements
You agree to provide accurate site information, including plot boundaries and access constraints, so that survey and planning work can proceed safely and correctly.
Prohibited Activities
Misrepresenting site conditions, boundary lines, or existing utilities is not permitted, as it affects the accuracy and safety of any resulting drawing.
Age Requirements
Services are intended for adults who hold or represent the legal interest in the plot in question.
Compliance
You are responsible for ensuring any resulting drainage or reinforcement work complies with applicable local regulations.
Third-Party Interactions
Where a contractor builds from our drawings, the relationship and any resulting installation quality is between you and that contractor.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Findings and drawings reflect conditions observed on the day of survey. Ground conditions can change, and we make no warranty beyond the accuracy of readings taken at that time.
Limitation of Liability
Mire Mesh Vault's liability in connection with any service is limited to the fee paid for that service, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Force Majeure
Neither party is liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including severe weather affecting site access.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
Severability
If any clause is found unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect.
Modifications
We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
Fees
A site water movement survey is ¥2,900, a perforated pipe layout plan ¥4,100 and geotextile and grid placement guidance ¥3,700, as listed on the service pages at the time of booking. Visits within Yokohama and nearby parts of Kanagawa include travel; anything further is quoted before the date is fixed.
Confirmation
A booking is confirmed when we agree a date in writing. Please tell us about buried services, septic tanks or recent excavation before the visit.
Test Pits
Test pits are dug only where you have agreed and where no buried cables or pipes are marked. Each pit is backfilled and the turf replaced before we leave, though some settling is normal over the following weeks.
Weather
Infiltration readings are not reliable on frozen or flooded ground, so a visit may be moved at short notice. A moved visit is rebooked without charge.
Layout drawings and route plans may be used by you or by a contractor you appoint, for the property surveyed. They may not be reused for another site or sold. A drawing reflects the ground on the survey date; if the plot is regraded, built on or significantly changed before work starts, please ask us to check it again.
Cancellation
You may cancel or move a booking free of charge up to two working days before the visit. Later cancellations may be charged at half the fee.
Limits
Our surveys and plans concern surface and shallow subsurface drainage for gardens, paths and slopes up to 30°. They are not geotechnical reports for building foundations or retaining structures, and we will say so when a site needs one. Liability for a service is limited to its fee, except where Japanese law does not allow such a limit.
Payment Terms
Fees are paid by bank transfer within seven days of receiving the survey report, drawing or guidance notes. Prices include consumption tax, and a receipt is issued for every payment.
Work by Contractors
Where a contractor builds from our drawing, the construction is their responsibility. We will answer their questions about the drawing, but we do not supervise or guarantee work we did not carry out.
These terms may be updated when our services or prices change. Bookings already confirmed remain under the version that applied when the date was agreed.
